About me

My name is Benno Rawlinson and I am 28 years old, currently working in London but originate from Perth , Scotland. This blog initially started as a diary about my journey to complete “The Worlds Toughest Footrace”, however I have since got the taste for adventure and it has covered other events, expeditions and a few random topics thrown in along the way.

From running across deserts, cycling the UK 3 peaks, running 100 miles non-stop to rowing across the Atlantic Ocean in 2013 as well as a number of different ultra marathons and mini expeditions a long the way I have written about these, talked about them with different groups and enjoyed every minute of them.

At school I got introduced to quite a few outdoor pursuits and even more so when I went home. Through uni I became involved in some more and have since become a qualified BASI level 2 ski instructor in Argentina, a country which I really hope to go back to and more recently starting my mountain leader training.

I am currently training to ski traverse the north west passage which will be the first man-powered journey along this route as well as setting out to be the longest unsupported and unassisted polar journey, which is due to begin in January 2015.

Thanks for reading my blog and I hope you find it interesting.

Benno

  1. Wishing you all the best for your latest venture, sounds exciting. Just reading about the North West Passage at the moment. All I can say is keep a good look out for Polar bears! Good luck.
